A look back at Mancilla Plasticien's Vernissage at Galerie Dune: An Exceptional Evening

On Thursday September 26, 2024, Galerie Dune, located at 3 rue Niepce in Nice, had the honor of inaugurating Mancilla Plasticien's exhibition at an exceptional vernissage. The evening marked the start of the exhibition "Ouvert pour cause d'inventaire", a fascinating collection in which the artist explores the utility of the useless and the sociological dimensions of beauty, luxury and snobbery.

From 7pm onwards, the gallery welcomed a curious and passionate public, who came to plunge into Mancilla's universe, a world where each work, whether an inclusion, a narrative photograph, a sculpture or a piece of furniture, invites contemplation. Far from being a simple exhibition, the vernissage quickly turned into an immersive experience, where each piece revealed a fragment of the artist's unique vision of the contemporary world.

The evening was enhanced by a live performance from violinist Simon Attal, whose music enveloped the gallery in a spellbinding, intimate atmosphere. Simon Attal's powerful yet melancholy playing offered guests a suspended moment, amplifying the artistic experience and making Mancilla's works resonate with even greater intensity.

The event brought together a wide range of guests, from contemporary art enthusiasts to collectors, as well as the curious who had come to discover this innovative approach. Exchanges between guests and the artist gave rise to rich discussions on Mancilla's inspirations and his singular approach, which redefines the boundary between utility and aesthetics.
